Technical base layers and keeping knees slightly off the frame helped. Stop-and-go is still the wrong environment for the bike.

Assume parts availability matters and the bike has to start every workday. I love late-2000s machines, but fuel hoses, charging systems, and discontinued trim add up. Where is your practical cutoff?

I rotate one tender monthly and have had good battery life, but I disconnect the negative terminal so there is no parasitic draw.
