Weekday mornings have been the calmest in my experience. I still plan the route with a fuel buffer and assume shaded sections may be damp.

If the timing is uncertain, measured stabilizer is cheap insurance. Run it long enough to reach the injectors instead of only treating the tank.

Check the state road and forest-service notices the same morning. Seasonal damage and temporary work can make last month's route advice obsolete.

About 6,500 on a middleweight twin with mostly backroads and highway. The front shoulders looked tired before the rear reached the wear bars.
